Dr. Cornel Barnard is the Medical Director of Nuvel Skin & Laser in Vernon, BC. As a physician injector, he combines advanced facial anatomy, evidence-based medicine, and a conservative aesthetic philosophy to help patients look refreshed without looking overdone.
Originally from South Africa, Dr. Barnard graduated from the University of the Free State in 2004 before moving to Canada in 2008. He lives in Vernon and continues to practise family medicine in Chase, bringing the perspective of a physician accustomed to thoughtful assessment, long-term patient relationships, and individualized care.
Dr. Barnard has maintained a longstanding interest in cosmetic skin procedures and facial rejuvenation throughout his medical career. His aesthetic practice focuses on comprehensive facial assessment rather than treating isolated lines or features, with an emphasis on restoring balance, preserving natural expression, and achieving results that age well over time.
He regularly pursues advanced education through national and international conferences, cadaver-based anatomy training, ultrasound-guided facial assessment, and complication management programs. His additional training includes:

Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, skiing, boating on Okanagan lakes, and playing soccer with friends.
